To celebrate being City Champions for Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, we are inviting primary schools from across the city to take part. It is open to all KS2 pupils (aged 7-11), who will be invited to draw, paint, or put together a collage showcasing what ‘home’ or ‘community’ means to them.
The competition will run from 30 May 2021 to 31 July 2021 and the winning school will receive £250 in art materials and the pupil will win a £25 Hobby Craft voucher, plus Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 merchandise.
Liz Draper, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the Coventry City of Culture Trust commented: “The city of Coventry is where it all began for Orbit and we are delighted to have them as one of our City Champions for Coventry UK City of Culture. The school art competition is a fantastic way to empower the young people of Coventry and celebrate the unique and vibrant city which is their home. I am looking forward to seeing the final pieces of artwork which represents what ‘community’ means to them.”
To enter, schools will be asked to send their pupils artwork to our Garden Court Office in Coventry or if necessary, collection from the school can be arranged.
This competition is now closed.
