Our leaflet ‘Helping you with damp and mould issues in your home’ explains what happens once you report an issue with damp or mould to us.
We’ve produced an additional three leaflets featuring a range of advice to help you manage issues with condensation, damp and mould. The first, ‘Understanding condensation, damp and mould’ offers advice around what condensation is and why it occurs. While small amounts of condensation are quite normal, especially in older or less well-ventilated properties, excess condensation can mean that over time, mould growth occurs.
It’s difficult to prevent condensation completely, especially in rooms like the kitchen or bathroom. However, ‘Reducing condensation, damp and mould’ contains tips to lower the amount of moisture in your home. These may, in turn, help to prevent damp and mould developing.
‘What to do if you are experiencing issues with condensation, damp and mould’ explains how to identify and manage damp, as well as dealing with minor cases of mould. This doesn’t apply, however, to severe cases of mould. We would urge you to report these to us so we can investigate them.
