Perhaps you’ve bought some new furniture or had a tidy up around the house and have used furnishings and other items you no longer want. You could try selling it on Facebook Marketplace or eBay to get a little extra cash back into your pocket. Perhaps you could upcycle it and create something new, or donate to someone in your local community who may be able to use it?
You may just want to get it out the door though and if that’s the case, have you considered donating your unwanted items to a furniture charity? Not only will it help you get rid of the clutter, it will also help raise money for some worthy causes. Got to love a win-win!
We’ve got a few suggestions for charities who will pick up furniture for free:
The British Heart Foundation furniture collection service will gather your unwanted furniture, electricals, homeware and more. You can also drop bags and boxes off to your local BHF charity shop or post higher quality items for free. Find out more by visiting their website.
There are other charities that collect from home too, including:
• Sue Ryder
• Cancer Research
• Salvation Army
We want everyone to live in a community that is green, safe, tidy – and free from fly tipping. To find out more visit our ‘Rubbish and refuse’ page.
