Here are some easy ways to save:
- The savings challenge: Set a goal to save a little money each month. Look at how much you usually spend and see if you can cut back a bit. Then, set up a regular payment to your savings account. This way, saving becomes a habit.
- Use autosaving apps: Some apps can help you save without even thinking about it! These apps figure out what you can afford and move that amount to a savings account for you. You can also save by rounding up your purchases and putting the extra change aside. Click here for more info on the apps available.
- Look for discounts: Before buying something, check if there’s a discount or a special offer. Signing up for newsletters might also give you a chance to save a bit more on your purchases.
- Cancel unused subscriptions: Do you have subscriptions you don’t use anymore, like a streaming service, fitness app or food delivery service? Make a list of all the subscriptions you’re paying for and cancel the ones you don’t really need. You might be surprised at how much you save!
- Spend less at the supermarket: Plan your meals, make a shopping list and set a budget. Buying in bulk and cooking in batches can help you save too. If you see a deal, check online to see if it’s really the best price before you buy it. Our handy recipe book includes meals for one, two, families and even vegan options. We’ve also included tips on affordable shopping, like using food apps and batch cooking.
