Please see the following important information about applying for a home to rent from us and when you first move in to your new home.
When you apply for a home
Identification
We will need to see identification for all adults to be housed and evidence that any children to be housed are in the custody of the adults on the tenancy application. Please see the Identification for new customers page for more details about forms of identity we accept. If you are accepted for a property, you must bring your ID and evidence of the children to the tenancy sign up.
Payment
We will need a minimum of one full week’s rent payment by card (debit or credit) before you sign your tenancy agreement, this is regardless of whether you are in receipt of housing benefit. We do not accept any other form of payment. If this is going to cause you difficulty, please contact us.
When you move in to your home
Utilities: gas, water and electricity
Connecting and paying for utilities to your property is your responsibility.
You must contact a supplier or suppliers yourself to arrange connection and bill payment.
If you have a gas boiler, this needs to be reconnected and you will be given instructions on how to do this when you get your keys. We need at least 24 hours notice to do this. If you have a prepayment meter both your gas and electricity must be in credit by at least £5 each before this can be done.
Home contents insurance
We insure the structure of your home but our cover doesn't include what's inside it - your furniture and personal belongings.
We strongly recommend you get personal contents insured against damage. This doesn't have to be expensive and we can help you to do this.
